Syria and Beyond: A Jewish Response to Today’s Refugees

Date: May 5, 2016

Time: 7:00 pm | Refreshments

Location: Temple Beth El

Speaker: Rabbi Jennie Rosenn, Vice President for Community Engagement, HIAS

There are more refugees and displaced persons in the world today than at any time since World War II. Conflict and persecution are driving millions from their homes, leaving them stateless and vulnerable. Guided by Jewish values and history, HIAS works around the world to protect those refugees who have been forced to flee their homelands because of who they are, including ethnic, religious and sexual minorities. Join Rabbi Jennie Rosenn, Vice President for Community Engagement at HIAS, to learn more about the current refugee crisis and to explore how Jewish values, experience and traditions are transforming the lives of refugees here in Charlotte.
