Temple Beth El University (TBEU) is a Jewish literacy program designed by congregants for congregants, which aims to provide basic Jewish literacy for all at an affordable cost. Acknowledging the bottomless sea of potential Jewish educational topics, TBEU aims to teach at multiple levels by providing both basic and advanced Jewish courses of all kinds. TBEU is open to Temple Beth El members and non-members, to the Jewish community and the larger community. Courses are typically two hours in length, and typically take place on three consecutive Wednesday evenings, and are taught by our TBE clergy and/or community educators. Previous compelling topics have included: Introduction to Torah and Tanach, Jewish Top 10’s, Kabbalah, Sex in the Texts, Jewish Values of God, Modern Hebrew Literature, Jewish Business Ethics, Remember the Holocaust, Maimonides, The Reform Jewish Approach to Death and Dying, Our Judaism Today, and more. Visit www.beth-el.com or call 704-366-1948 for more information. Please note that the April sessions will NOT be held on consecutive Wednesdays! The three classes will be held on April 2, April 9, and April 23.
