Temple israel 4901 Providence Road
Charlotte, NC

Come hear brother and sister duo Aviva and Gil Ezring (AGEz) as they present their unique blend of contemporary Jewish music in a performance which combines alternative rock, folk and country elements to create melodies for Tefilot (prayer) that are both memorable and singable. Aviva and Gil are the oldest and youngest of Rabbi Murray and Barbara Ezring’s 4 children. They have a combined total of over 30 years of live performance experience from davening and reading Torah in their synagogues to musical theater, opera, concert and recital work. Aviva earned a Masters degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Michigan and Gil is currently a Cantorial student at the Jewish Theological Seminary. Gil was one of the founding members of Temple Israel’s Rock Haruach band and he helped to create the first Jewish rock services for the synagogue, Rock Hashabbat and Rock Hashanna, which have become staple alternative services throughout the year. “Our objective is to create contemporary, catchy melodies that encourage people to sing along, participate and feel more connected to their Shabbat or holiday services.” The concert is FREE and all are welcome!
